IS THERAPY RIGHT FOR ME?
Seeking out therapy is an individual choice. There are many reasons why people choose to have therapy. Sometimes they want to deal with long-standing psychological issues, or problems with anxiety or depression. Other times it’s in response to unexpected life changes, such as a divorce or loss of a loved one. Many seek out therapy to explore personal growth and to create greater self-awareness.
Working with a therapist can help provide insight, support, and new strategies for all types of life challenges. Therapy can help address many types of issues including depression, anxiety, body-image issues, conflict, chaotic eating, low self-esteem, stress management and general life transitions.

WHAT IS THERAPY LIKE?
Every therapy session is unique and caters to an individual and their specific goals. I work in a humanistic Integrative way and this is an approach that systematically considers the whole person – mind, body and spirit. Therapy is a special, unique type of conversation in which you can say exactly what you feel without worrying that you’re going to hurt anyone’s feelings, damage a relationship, or be judged in any way. Anything you want or need to say is okay.

I'M NOT THAT BAD, DO I REALLY NEED THERAPY?
Everyone goes through challenging situations in life, and while you may have successfully navigated many difficulties you’ve faced, there’s nothing wrong with seeking out extra support when you need it. Having enough self-awareness to realise when you need a helping hand, is to be admired. By taking responsibility and accepting where you’re at in life, you’re making a commitment to change the situation by seeking therapy. Therapy provides long-lasting benefits and support, giving you the tools, you need to avoid triggers, re-direct damaging patterns, and overcome the challenges you face.

HOW DO I START?
Usually, I suggest we meet for an initial consultation. This appointment is an opportunity to get to know each other and confidentially discuss what brings you to me, what you would like to get out of therapy, and how we might work together. There is no obligation to continue.
I will ask questions about you and explain what therapy involves. You will have the opportunity to clarify any questions or concerns you may have about the process of therapy and how I work.
Many people are intimidated by the thought of starting therapy and there can be a lot of fears about what to expect. I hope to make things as comfortable and relaxing for you as possible.

HOW LONG WILL I NEED THERAPY FOR?
The length of therapy is unique to each person, and we will discuss this in your initial consultation. Among other factors, it depends on what you seek help with.
Whatever the length of therapy, our agreement can be reviewed at any point.
